On November 20th - 22nd , a glass mosaic lantern workshop will be held at the ïque mosaic studio in Tallinn. Dozens of lanterns have been made in the studio previous winters, each magical in its own way. You can admire the finished lanterns in the studio's Instagram clip: https://www.instagram.com/p/DIZTBLftQDs/ In the workshop, we will design a composition from recycled colored stained glass and create a lantern covered with a finished glass mosaic. The workshop graduate: * handles and cuts glass * makes a composition from glass pieces * knows the tools used in glass mosaic * leaves with a glass mosaic lantern made with their own hands Schedule November 20th , Friday. 17.00-20.00 We get acquainted with the materials and select a suitable lantern. We design, select suitable glass, practice cutting glass. November 21st , Saturday. 15.00-18.30 We start laying the glass mosaic according to the design, cut the glass. November 22nd , Sunday. 10.00 - 11.00 We finish laying glass, grout and polish. We light a candle or LED lights in the lantern and admire. The workshop price includes all the necessary work and protective equipment, a wide selection of colored glass and a lantern. The workshop's graduate's way home will be lit by the the warm glow of a DIY lantern. The course is taught by mosaic artist and art teacher Salme Vabar.
